These units come supplied with 4 AA batteries. However don’t worry, these will actually last you a while as this unit doesn’t seem to take much juice to run.
One of the major features of this unit, is despite its simplicity, the 915 MHZ reciever can actually take readings from 3 different sensors! Just a word of warning though, which is if one of your sensors falls out of range, then ALL sensors will need to be hard reset and re-initialized which means removing the batteries from each one. A bit of a pain, but thankfully nothing that happens too often.

The instructions that come with this are fairly good. The booklet that is supplied is rather large, which may lead some people to think this device is actually quite complicated, however it’s just that they include many different languages in the one instruction booklet. Setup is fairly easy and once your temp sensors are setup, it only takes seconds to setup the clock.

Whilst this product gets generally good reviews and currently has a 4 out of 5 star rating at Amazon (from over 160 reviews), it has been noted occasionally that whilst this unit is rather accurate at reading the indoor temperature, the outdoor temperature reading of the WS-9160U-IT can be a bit flaky at times.

All in all, this is a very good unit for the price. If you’re after a simple wireless thermometer that can be easily setup, easily read, and with the ability to use multiple sensors with the reciever then the La Crosse Technology WS-9160U-IT Digital Thermometer is perfect for you.
